How to Get to Emerald Island Resort and the Vacation Villas
Full details will be sent to you when you book a vacation rental home. Below are general directions to Emerald Island Resort from a number of locations. This should make getting to the vacation rentals very easy. Click here to see the general location of Emerald Island Resort on a map.
Directions from Orlando International Airport. Emerald Island Resort is easy to find and only 20 minutes drive.
  1. Exit the airport and follow the signs for Route 528 West, also known as the Beeline Expressway.
  2. Follow 528 West towards the I4
  3. Exit Route 528 onto the I4 heading West towards Tampa
  4. Follow I4 West past Sea world and Disney
  5. Exit 64B onto Route 192 West
  6. Go about 2 miles. As you are Driving down 192 look for the McDonalds and Denny's Restaurants on your right. Just after McDonalds Turn left into Formosa Gardens Boulevard between markers 5 & 4.
  7. When you reach the first junction just past the old Splendid China Theme Park entrance, turn right into Funie Steed Road
  8. Go along Funie Steed road for ¼ of a mile past Oak Island Harbor, under an overpass, and on the left you will see the entrance to Emerald Island Resort!
  9. Turn into Emerald Island Resort, drive down the beautifully landscaped causeway until you come to the security gate. Tell the guard which vacation villa you are going to. He will open the gate for you. Be sure to get a pass from the clubhouse so you can get in more easily for the rest of your stay.
A Faster Way From Orlando International Airport.
  1. Exit the airport and follow the signs for Route 417 South.
  2. You will travel about 3 miles before you actually encounter Route 417.
  3. Once on 417, you will need to pay $1.00 at each of 2 toll booths
  4. Get off 417 at Exit 2. The sign says "Celebration". You will need to pay 50 cents as you get off.
  5. Just past the exit toll booth get over to the right side of the road and turn right onto Celebration Boulevard
  6. Go about 200 yards and turn left onto Route 192 West
  7. Go about 2 miles. As you are Driving down 192 look for the McDonalds and Denny's Restaurants on your right. Just after McDonalds Turn left into Formosa Gardens Boulevard between markers 5 & 4.

Directions from Orlando Sanford Airport.
  1. Exit the airport and follow the signs for Route 417 South.
  2. At junction 26 join Route 528 (The Beeline Expressway) heading West
  3. Follow the instructions above from step 2
Directions from Tampa.
  1. Exit the airport. There is only one road for the airport exit.
  2. Look for signs to Route 275 North and I-4. You will have to take a ramp off the airport exit road after about a mile to get onto Route 275 North.
  3. After about 5 miles you will get onto I-4.
  4. Proceed along I-4 until you reach exit 64-B. Get off here. You will be on Route 192 Westbound.
  5. Follow the instructions above (from Orlando airport) from step 5
  6. Note: exit 64-B is 64 miles from where you get onto I-4 in Tampa.
Of course there are other ways to get there, just take whichever route you feel comfortable with but remember some of the roads, such as the 417, are toll roads. You will need coins to pay the tolls at the automated booths, please make sure you have about $5 in change.
